Special Meeting Notice:  

Green Lake Township Board will be holding a Special Meeting on Monday, Februrary 20, 2017 at 4pm at the Township Offices for the purposes of adopting the updated recreation plan.

The Interlochen Improvement District will be holding its board meeting on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 10am at the Township Hall at 9394 10th St.

Township Board Meetings will now be held at Golden Fellowship Hall at 9700 Riley Road beginning in January 2017.     

Green Lake Township is accepting sealed bids for the sale of a 2008 GMC/Horton ambulance, VIN #1GDE4V19X8F417795. Unit was involved in a traffic accident, odometer shows 59,975 miles, starts and runs.

    

     Bids shall only be accepted in sealed envelopes plainly marked “AMBULANCE BID”. Sealed bids will be opened on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 5:00 PM. Green Lake Township reserves the right to reject any or all bids for any reason. Unit will be sold as is – where is, no warrantee expressed or implied. Winning bidder shall be responsible for vehicle removal.

 

     Vehicle can be inspected at the Green Lake Township Emergency Services Station during business hours (address below). Further information can be obtained by the calling the Station at 231-276-6297.

PUBLIC REVIEW AND COMMENT PERIOD

JANUARY 12 – FEBRUARY 20, 2017

The draft Township Recreation Plan is available for public inspection.

A hard copy of the draft plan document is available for public inspection during regular office hours of 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, at the Green Lake Township Hall located at 9394 10th Street in Interlochen.  The plan may also be viewed on line at www.greenlaketownship.org (below)

     It is now time to start thinking about spring and summertime activities.  This year Green Lake Township will again be offering youth baseball leagues.  Youth ages from 5 years old to 13 years old for T-Ball, Coach Pitch or Little League From any school or Township (No tryouts all playing abilities welcome).  First day for Green Lake Township Youth Baseball Applications is Monday, March 20, 2017.  Last day to accept Green Lake Township Baseball Applications is Thursday, April 20, 2017.

  Water and Sewer Feasibility Study.   Green Lake Township commissioned this feasibility study to determine the costs of installing municipal water, waste water collection, and waste water treatment to serve the Interlochen Development District.  Read more about the study
   


Green Lake Township had previously applied for a grant offered by the Department of Natural Resources to construct a trail through the heart of the Village of Interlochen.  While the past application did not receive funding, the 2017 township board is working on a new application for this project.  This is the map of the trail for which we previously applied.
